Biblical justice
There’s a wideness in God’s mercy like the wideness of the sea; There’s a kindness in his justice which is more than liberty. There is no place where earth’s sorrows are more felt than up in heaven; There is no place where earth’s failings have such kindly judgment given. A reminder to me to not to begin a journey unless I’ve done my homework, counted the cost, and willing to persevere until I reach the “Promised Land.”
Could I let God be in charge of my reputation? Was God’s approval enough for me? After this early exercise in dying to self, I eventually found the meaning of:
“There is no greater call than to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God. There is no greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”
There are great victories to be won by the people of God. There are great miracles to be released, blessings to be poured out. The reality of Heaven is eager to spill out onto earth. What parts of earth need to be replaced with Heaven? What injustices do you see? Where do you see pain, and brokenness? Pray that Heaven would move into those places!
