You will stay true
Even when the lies come
Your word remains truth
Even when my thoughts don’t line up
I will stand tall
On each promise You made
Let the rest fade away
You will stay true
Even in the chaos
Your word remains truth
Even when my mind wreaks havoc
I will be still
For I’ve known all along
My Jehovah Shalom
I’ve found peace far beyond all understanding
Let it flow when my mind’s under siege
All anxiety bows in the presence of Jesus the Keeper of Peace
And peace is a promise He keeps.
When we do make peace with God, then we have his promise of protection:
“Surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him. You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah. ” (Psalm 32:6b-7)
The shouts or “songs of deliverance” in verse 7 that surround us are what you would expect in the camp of the victorious army, not in a fear-filled hovel. God both protects us and encourages our faith.

David loved Bathsheba.
He prayed for her deliverance from “mighty waters” of life because Bathsheba was constantly on trial. Or at least she can often feel that way. It doesn’t help matters that she has the prosecutor of her soul forever providing expert witnesses of her failure. It seems that all of his accusations are sustained, that every one of her objections is overruled. The cross-examination going on in her mind is ruthless. The charges are pressed so hard that they hurt. All infringements of which she stands accused seem too minor to warrant such harsh punishment. She is, after all, only trying to do her best. Why does it never seem to be enough? She feels the pressure of so many expectations at once that it overwhelms her, and this makes her less effective in getting done what she needs to do. She may even get discouraged and short-circuit. Read more about Bathsheba.
David Prays For Bathsheba
There was no recorded journal in Bible that David prayed for Bathsheba. But I would imagine that He would have prayed this way for her.
Lord, I lift up Bathsheba to You today and ask that You would be in charge of her life. Show her how to seek You first in all things, and to make time with You her first priority every day. Give her the wisdom to know how to effectively divide up her time, and then to make the best use of it. Show her the way to prioritize her responsibilities and interests and still fulfill each role she has to the fullest. Show her how to find a good balance between being running a home, a wife, a mother, working at a job, serving in the church and community, and finding time for herself so that she can be rested and refreshed. Release her from the guilt that can weigh her down when these things get out of balance. In the midst of all that, I pray that she will take time for me without feeling she is neglecting other things.
Give her the energy and the ability to accomplish all she needs to do, and may she have joy in the process. Lord, I pray that You would help her home a peaceful sanctuary. Regardless of her financial state, give her the wisdom, energy, strength, vision, and clarity of mind to transform our dwelling into a beautiful place of refuge that brings joy to all who would come inside.
I ask You to lift from her the burden of caring for her calling and give her peace about it. Show. Holy Spirit, I invite You to fill her home with Your peace, truth, love, and unity. Keep it safe, and let no one enter her home who is not brought here by You.
Give her the grace to handle the challenges she faces each day, and the wisdom to not try to do more than she can. Teach her to clearly recognize what her priorities should be, and enable her to balance them well.
May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.
